The route
Your chauffeur drives down the Alsace plain on the A35, crosses the border at the Basel border post, then reaches Zurich via the A3 and A1 motorways. Swiss motorways require the Swiss motorway vignette; the route and margins are prepared before departure.
For a long-haul flight with Swiss or another airline, your departure time from Strasbourg allows for check-in and security at Zurich.
What about the train?
You generally need to reach Basel SBB, Basel’s Swiss station, then change for Zurich Airport station. With suitcases, children or a dawn departure, every connection adds stress; check timetables on SNCF Connect and the SBB website.
